Ambiorix, R, and the Web

Introduction

This book explores web development in R using the Ambiorix framework.

Ambiorix’s official documentation offers a solid reference, and is intentionally concise. This book compliments it with detailed explanations and lots of practical examples showing you how the pieces fit together.

This book is for you if you want to discover the joy of building web applications and APIs using your favorite programming language (R, by the way).

We try as much as possible to explain concepts from the ground-up, linking to useful resources where necessary.

As such, the book is full of reproducible code examples. If you’re new to web development, please do not copy-paste the code snippets. Type the code yourself. Keystroke by keystroke. That’s the only way to truly learn: by doing.

Our only hope is that the curiosity that got you to this first page will take you through most of the chapters, if not all :)
